The Roy Building

    The Roy Building is in downtown Prattville and was the first bank in Autauga county, founded by Daniel Pratt in the 1850's, before the city was known as Prattville. This is a large two story building with 20 foot ceilings and an attic that is just as large. The building also has a basement but is unaccessable due to the flood of 1939 that caved it in. This building houses the first vault for the county as well as the first elevator.  It is said that one of the bankers hung himself in one of the rooms back during the depression, however, this has never been verified.

    The owners have experienced the sound of footsteps following them up the stairs, things constantly being moved on their own, and a strong feeling of uneasiness and being watched.

    Since the building was so large we asked a few of the members from Central Alabama Paranormal Investigations (CAPI) to join us on the investigation. During the investigation, several of the investigators had personal experiences. Ben from CAPI witnessed a mist like form right in front of his face, Amber, thinking that I was right behind her, heard footsteps follow her and when she stopped, saw something pass by her. When she turned to look for me, I had not yet come out of the room she had just left from and all of the other investigators were in another room. Johnny, the founder of CAPI, saw a shadow slowly walk across the attic. The shadow was walking on the floor itself and in this attic, because the floor is so weak, you cannot do that you have to walk along the rafters. Nathan also saw a shadow downstairs as we were packing up getting ready to leave. We have not gone over all of the evidence yet, but we have got a few pictures and an EVP from the attic saying "get out" and alot of banging that was going on that we could not hear at the time. We still have alot of video to go over and will post those results, if any, afterwards.
